New bcm installed. PMI and CEI performed with IDS. No TPMS or BMS or PATS on vehicle. Performed parameter reset in security. Still have 3 PATS codes and no crank. Less than 2 keys programmed, PAT target identifier not programmed, and transponder missing message. Checked bcm part number is correct. What am I missing ? Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Assuming you have 2 keys is one of them a clone?

Go into PATS gain security clear all keys, program 2. Go back into security (another 10 minute wait) do a parameter reset. Keys must be programmed first before performing parameter reset on some models. You should be OK. I just dealt with this on a F350 last Friday.

Non PATS vehicle, non transponder keys. Back story. The client shop diagnosed a faulty BCM. They also attempted to take it apart. I initially couldn't enter security. IDS prompted fault found. During data pid check of ignition switch inputs to bcm & pcm found pcm key state reading off with key on. Diagnosis found high resistance on the ISP-R circuit of pcm. Found damaged wire and repaired…

I have never seen a non PATS vehicle of that year range. Maybe it is rare? I remember hearing a story a while back about an oddball Ford having to have a special as built data provided by Motorcraft. I might try asbuilt programming using the Vin and data from motorcraft.com and if that fails reaching out to Ford. I wouldnt think PATS could be programmed out with asbuilt but…

Mike many F350 and larger trucks did not have PATS. I guess Ford figured nobody would want to steal a work truck. 😀

Paul, When programming the new BCM was there any questions like if has push to start or something ? Is/was the dome light flashing like it is in engineering mode? Can you post the old and new BCM part numbers? What are Pat's codes or did I miss seeing them in your info. Vin number would be nice also Any aftermarket stuff on this vehicle?

Hi Paul, I have ran into the same issue before on a 2011 Ford F-550. We also only had the Parameter Reset Option on the old BCM, but the new BCM had that plus all the PATS Key Options. We tired both Automatically and Manually entering in As-Built Data with no luck. I had a friend at the dealer compare the As-Built Data he pulled from Oasis and verified it was the same as I was getting from…

CEI lock configuration: This function locks the configurable engine immobilizer. (ie with or without pats) once this is done, it can not be undone. Not exactly sure how the programming selected with pats during programming, but once the CEI LOCK configuration is run, the configuration can not be changed and will require the module to be replaced once locked in the incorrect state. I have seen…

Thanks Chris, that makes sense. Since the shop had damaged the original bcm I performed the initial PMI with as built data. From your explanation I assume that is how the bcm determines if the vehicle has PATS or not. Then as per IDS instructions I performed CEI lock configuration. If I had gone to PATS functions first, after PMI and the full PATS menu was listed, could I have gone back at that…

If you can, have the dealer verify BCM part number by vin through a tool called HVBOM, most newer (after 2005?) have a part listing by vin to help verify application. As far as going back and fixing.... that is the idea, but I have not been in this situation other than after CEI lock configuration was performed. Just the fact that the function is in the BCM shows that it can be changed one way…

Trying to get this info into any threads posted with similar issues for history search purposes. Hoping others might get back the hours we lost figuring this out. We had the same situation today with a 2015 F350. Replaced the body module and reprogrammed with Cardaq 3 plus and FJDS. The instructions that others call out were plainly listed(attached) during the reprogramming process. The issue…
