2012 Ford Fusion Stalling
I have a 2012 Ford fusion here that stalled once on the customer at a stop light. I am unable to duplicate concern and there are no codes in memory or pending codes. The spark plugs were changed along with a fuel injection service and throttle body service 5k ago. Trying to figure out where to start here
Scope crank sensor and look at amplitude
2012 was not a very good year for throttle bodies for Ford. The problem is most of the time all diagnostics were inconclusive. This vin still shows open for 13N03 throttle body extended coverage. The extension should apply for 10 years or 150,000 miles.
Yes but with this bad throttle body car would not stall just no throttle response and no codes . I have replaced a few for this problem but I could be wrong for the stalling
I've seen it go both ways, stalling and 'dead' pedal. Follow through with normal diagnostics, monitor data, attempt to duplicate, resistance sweeps on the TP portion etc. Price it out and advise your customer of their options, let them make an educated decision on how they want to proceed. Sometimes with very intermittent faults the cost of a test part is less than the time invested to prove…
First step is duplicate the complaint. If it doesn’t do it again for a month that’s a lot of driving. My 12 Jeep 5.7 stalls twice a year at the same stop light only in February. I’m not kidding. 3 years straight. I gave up trying to find it
