Bliss module
Does anyone know if you replace the bliss module in rear taillight, do you have to program it
Yes you do. They require PMI configuration.
some ford information here(f150, I suspect similar): file:///C:/Users/rplli/Downloads/Side%20Obstacle%20Detection%20Control%20Module.pdf
This is incorrect. We have had them swapped at body shops and have programmed them all back just fine.
The one I had was an FDRS Super duty. Maybe it was a 20. I don't remember. The body shop put in used modules. FDRS would not let me program them caused they had a different VIN stored already.
I've done 2019, 2020, 2021 as long as they are the correct part number they will work. Vin gets changed when PMI is done.
I have also done used and had used fail. The problem is there are different types that all look the same on the outside. If you go in to as built with an aftermarket as built programming tool you can see the lines of as built. If the available slots don’t match the as built you get from the Ford site, you have the wrong used part.
I have seen the same kind of issues, not sure exactly which years, but one year may have more lines than the previous. There was an issue with Fusion HVAC's where you could not put a used HVAC due to the software only being able to write the new design module with more asbuilt.
First time I ever heard the side object detection module referred to as BLISS.
Here is a video from Bosch showing it PMI configuration youtu.be/QAMTpIZaPcI?t…
