2017 Jeep Renegade BCM replacement
Hi everyone….Vehicle came to me from another shop to have new BCM installed and programmed…Question that I have is… this vehicle is push button start and I cannot turn the vehicle on is this normal?? When the original BCM is installed the vehicle will turn on . When I have WiTech hooked up to it the only module that communicates is the BCM but when I try to run vehicle configuration or bcm replace procedures on the new BCM the tool tells me to turn the ignition on and when I push the button on the ignition nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated
have you tried with the hazards on while doing restore configuration. I know there is a not about new bcm on the bottom of the screen in restore configuration saying to continue on but if it’s not letting you turn it on maybe wake bcm with hazards
Procedures are performed, starting from the top, after replacing the BCM.
Ok turning hazards on did allow me to move forward with the restore vehicle configuration function(Thanks for the quick replies) however after I enter the PIN number another screen comes up that says WEB Server For Plant request VIN is present in Accessory Table and then my only option is to hit continue and then another screen pops up that says Procedure terminated not correctly and gives…
From the dealer that sold the BCM to the shop
I have run into pin problems from the dealer. When using aftermarket Witech the pins are different than what the dealer uses. You must go through the process under the web site to obtain a pin with aftermarket Witech, It will be different.
Interesting.. what if I used my Autel to pull the Pin from the car directly? Also do you know why the error message wouldn’t say ”incorrect pin” ?
this is a rolling 5 digit code. You will not be able to pull the pin with autel unless you bypass security gateway or use a brute force cable or a connection at the star connector. the dealer pins are different then the aftermarket on these with the rolling code. I’m assuming you have an autel IM508 or 608 to do this?
Yes I have the 608 … so if I understand you correctly this is not the 4 digit number that I would use to learn keys or replace PCM ?Chrysler now has another PIN ?
This is still the pin Chrysler uses but now it’s not a 4 digit pin but instead a 5 digit rolling PIN number. just Note, it’s not the same as the dealer pin They give you For the aftermarket. I use a brute force cable that plugs into star connector which also has an attachment to go to dlc. you Will need either need the bypass cable to retrieve the pin or the brute force cable.
Ok I understand what your talking about now … I will just use my LSID and get the aftermarket code and hopefully that will work thanks for all your help
Cody, Is brute force a generic term or rather a vendor name? Can you expand on that? Im envisioning the aspect where one connector plugs into the can splice...but is it a Y-type cable with 3 connectors? Is the Autel 12/8 cable usable also?
