Are there any ASE registration codes

Michael Technician Amherst, Massachusetts Posted   Latest

I am wondering if there are any ASE registration coupon codes available?

I am looking at taking some ASE recertification and new certification tests.

The exams i was looking at taking, are over 300 dollars to pay for them myself. I have already bought ase test prep books from motorage at 265 dollars.

Thank you in advance.

Michael, If you or your shop are apart of the NAPA CARE centers, they use to pay for the tests. You would need to pay up front and any test(s) you passed, they would reimburse you, including the registration fee. Maybe , due to the COVID-19 They have stopped. HTH T …

You might want to check with your Team lead or Shop manager as usually our vendors which is through a Network provide discounted rates for ASE Testing and perhaps your shop has a reimbursement plan that you could apply for if you pass them. The few that I know for sure are Parts Plus, ACDelco,FMP and I believe Napa as well if you are part of their network. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Hello Kevin, I want to do all the exams in one day once i have read the motorage books. I have watched the explanation of the aseapp when it was presented a few months ago that would not work for me.

Hi Michael, I took a look at your certifications. It is not possible for you to recertify all of your credentials in one day. You have earned too many certifications to do that. This is why I was suggesting the app. The app could help you maintain your "A-series" certifications and then you could recertify all of your other certifications in one day. The app is new and most people do not…

Hello Kevin, Thank you for looking into my certifications. Can i spend a weekend for example with the ase application to do all my automotive a1 through a8? Doing a couple of questions a month takes way too long. I am presuming i need to do L1 at prometric. I want to do some truck certifications and L2 and E2 for a possible job opportunities in the future. Please advise

Hi Michael, The best way to think about the app is to think about it as a magazine subscription. We will deliver a new question to you every 30 days. Just like a magazine, it is up to you if you want to look at the question or not. Regardless of what you do, we will continue to deliver 1 question, per certification, every month. The content in the question is more leading edge and will address…

You need to add the registration fee to the cap. Also, what is your time worth? How far do you have to travel to a test center? What additional cost are there when testing? How many trips do you have to make? How much potential lost income is there while being out of the shop? There is a lot to consider to understand the true cost. The app may not be for everyone but for some, it is a fantastic…

Chris- Its like $170 total for 5 years v $240 for 5 years. S a 70 dollar difference Convenience usually costs more, so I guess it depends on how much its worth to the individual. Personally, I love it. Never have to take time off to go to a testing site and all the nuisances that accompany that(the drive, being searched, maybe paying for parking....etc) I like that I can test anytime…

It costs what it costs to get certified. I personally would rather do it once every 5 years and register for the other tests (L & T series) on the same registration. Not all employers reimburse (fortunately mine does) and sometimes total cost is an issue. I see both sides but I figured I would mention the difference. I personally think the app should be less expensive as Prometric is not…

While the app may not be administered by Prometric, it is administered by a company other than …. … is not an app developer and has hired HLT to administer the app program. These companies do not offer their services for free. Does Opus offer it's service to shops and technicians for free? All … questions are written by a technical committee. The cost to develop app questions is no…

My friend, u are obviously a dedicated employee. If your employer doesn't care enough to pay for skills which will certainly benefit them, it's time to take a hard look at your situation. Just my half a cent. Good luck

Hey Michael , I’m looking to get certified as well and my current employer doesn’t pay for ase certs either let alone training. It’s all an out of pocket expense for me too! with the registration fee ,A1-A9 , L1 and motor age practice test I’m looking at $835. Don’t get discouraged if you have to pay it, save up for it That’s what I’m doing I don’t know when they will begin testing again…

Hi Michael, my own experience is that every FM, Ford, and Chrysler dealer that I worked for paid for all ASE tests. I was also lead tech at a Firestone, and they not only paid for pre-tests and tests, but paid you $200.00 for every test you passed and your time to and from the testing center. I now teach automotive at a high school, and they pay for all recertification tests.
