2015 Volvo S60 T5 2.0L (40 B4204T11) 6-spd (TF-80SC AWD)

Hi guys

volvo s60 2015 have this storage burp noise coming from rear of the vehicle. very inconsistence, heard twice and unable duplicate it. Suspecting evap canister, performed fuel tank test with visa dice and all passed. No faults anywhere.

Wonder if anyone came across this issue? Thank you in advance.

It would happen on this vehicle when the evap purge would hit 60% at idle. Just let the car sit and once warmed up it will start to purge more. After about ten minutes it would purge this high and the gas cap would vent since there is negative pressure in the tank. The problem was caused by a restricted scrubber in the evap system. It is connected to the charcoal canister. I believe it is first…

That sounds more like a fart than a burb. Sorry couldn't resist.

Once prior, we were having a very eratic pop noise. we installed a new charcoal canister that did not come with a filter(sold separate). noise still there, temporary bypassed the filter with a hose----noise gone. put on a new filter as well, no more noise. Very weird and hard to repair.

I had the same problem on a few now, there is a round ‘filter’ near the carbon canister that partially plugs up. this is the usual cuplrit…volvowholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/volv…; I suppose any restriction in the EVAP could cause this…..

Thanks a lot for replies guys. That cylinder shape filter has been replaced along with LDP pump few months ago. it was the Volvo part too. Didn’t fix the problem. No hoses have been replaced. And yes, in this car sounds more like moist fart.

Thanks fellows, especially Mike. It was that cylinder shape filter, had to be faulty, right from the production line since didn’t fix it at first. No more funny noises.
