Great analysis of scope waveforms, as usual, but I have a question: Trying to move phasers manually on an interference engine that is already out-of-time — how much of a gamble is it? Or it can be identified from the original pressure waveform that it is safe to do it? Was it safe in this case?
While I agree in general principal about testing as much of the system as possible to verify that it works before commencing big dollar repairs. No way am I doing that job without new actuators. If the maintenance history is so poor that it clogged the screens on the solenoids and the chain has stretched and jumped then the actuators are very likely to fail in the not too distant future.
