Why is this video promoted by an entity that is supposed to be representing professional automotive service providers? In my professional opinion, promotion of the purchase of refrigerant with sealant is absolutely the WRONG THING TO DO! I know first-hand that this sealant has already cost me thousands. If we discover a vehicle in for service has had any of this stuff in the system, they will be required to basically replace all components in order to get their system operating the way the system was originally engineered. In the end, the consumer will be spending unnecessary $$ because they used refrigerant with sealant!

Have they no shame, is nothing sacred anymore ? Oh, I forgot the underlying $ymboli$m'$. Reminds me of this miracle in a can/bottle. youtube.com/watch?v=EKpO6D… And the head gasket remedies in a can or bottle in the professional trade publications right next to a Fel-Pro or other leading head gasket makers ad's. Beats me...

It would do us all a lot of good if there were a class action suit against the makers of sealer. The sellers of this destructive product would also be named. When I do training classes for shops, I talk to them about purchasing a sealant filter. I instruct them to connect it any time they are recovering refrigerant. Once recovered, the filter is removed from the system. This way the programmed…

What a confounded racket! This is supported by CARB, and is claimed to be promoting environmental protection. Have they lost their minds? The entire video is anti-planet. You are in California. File a complaint.

Oh my . . . sealants recommended? That's not good! Thanks for the heads up Scott! I need to forward this to my friends at MACS. I think the leadership there knows them. Too late now I'm sure to change the video but maybe a note on their website warning about the problem with excessive sealants? The Car Care Council obviously spent some good money creating and editing this professional video…

Hi Marlin, Probably was subconsciously writing their “copy” for them (Care Care Council) by adding that word! The business side of making a video blooper is often employing some form of subjective wording to “somewhat” correct one’s self without admitting to being totally wrong. Not defending that but it’s reality. Business politics aside strictly from a mobile A/C educator’s standpoint I…

Ha, I understand what you are saying. But I have a problem with you writing it, because you are a "subject matter expert" and indicated that using SOME amount of sealant is acceptable.

Thanks Dave, I can't believe I blew the Car Care Council name... Do you think it's possible to tap into funds supporting the consumer awareness efforts on this? See this: apps.cce.csus.edu/sites/CalRecyc….pdf Quoted from slide 10: Amendments become effective around January 2017 - Continue to resolve two major issues of concern …

Hi Scott, Looks like a California thing so I’ll defer any opinions to those from the Golden State.

Because those at the Car Care Council are like almost all other vehicle owners, they don't know what they don't know. Ignorance is bliss. Until someone takes the time to educate them they will continue to promote incorrect procedures and improper or damaging products.

As far as damage caused by sealants, these compressor photos were provided by Ranshu, an A/C parts supplier in Nevada, These are compressors that were returned for warranty claims and the beige colored stuff in the compressor parts is the sealant. It has been found that some compressors seized overnight after sealant was put in the day prior. The last two pictures show a solenoid valve and a…
