Key stuck in ignition
Truck will crank and start but you cannot take the key out. If you turn the vehicle off the furthest it gets is the accessory position. Truck registers in park but on the PRNDL display the P is flashing. No trouble codes in any modules. If I unplug the electrical connector in the back of the ignition and wait a couple minutes I can cycle the key and get the ignition key to come out and goes to the off position only once . If you put the key back in the key gets stuck again
It needs to have the key module replaced. That problem is quite common. You will need to program it once you get the new one installed.
Hello Albin! Sounds like Daimler pecker marks....... Good to see you here. Best to you
Thanks guys appreciate it. Can I program that module with witech. Do I need an locksmith ID and pin codes
Yes you will need the PIN code to program. You can program this with the Chrysler J2534 software or the wiTECH 2.0. Also, most Autels have a WIN replaced function. All of these options do require the PIN code.If the dealer will not give it to you then you will need an LSID and can purchase the PIN at moparkeycode.com
Had a Vehicle like this once give me trouble . From the radio frequency hub there is a trs park signal . Yellow /blue wire going to the shift Interlock . Might want to check that out .. this vehicle had the same issue and someone else replaced the wcm and that didn’t fix it .. it had the yellow /blue wire opened by the driver side kick panel . Should see 12v at it not sure but check that sounds
I tried a known good module from a same year truck. Put the suspected bad module works just fine in the known good truck so I'm pulling up diagrams to see where that trs park signal goes to
It goes from the radio frequenxy hub to the Interlock .. if I remember correctly been over a year . But yeah that’s gonna be ur issue .. check that wire make sure it isn’t open
Not sure if this will apply for your truck, but I have ran into this problem with aftermarket tuning software. Has the truck been tuned to make more power, or remove emissions control devices? In two cases when I've done performance tuning on '17 Ram 2500's the key would not release. No codes stored. After speaking with the tuning company the first time they advised to just unhook both batteries
The problem with the truck was the shift interlock solenoid was not being depressed so the person driving the truck pulled the lever till it bent the components holding the shifter in the lock postion. So long story short had to replace the shift interlock solenoid and the shifter since he bent the shifter . Couldn't just put the solenoid only because the small push pin would not touch the
