Hello there I believe that pump is refering to is the Engine Waterpump that pump is the same as on the cla250 it has a vacum flap inside to let coolant flow after the vehicle is warm and close when vehicle is cold you need to check that the vacum solenoid is operating also check the vacum line to the actuator and if it is the same waterpump as on the cla250 the lever for the water pump flap…

That would be the water pump. I just quickly searched identifix on that code. Heres some diagnostic steps you can try.

I went thru the testing, thank you for this. The pump holds vacuum, the solenoid works and has 25 inches of vacuum. How an I determined if the flap is moving? Thanks

When you activate the solenoid for the waterpump with the car running you should see the lever moving if the vacum rod is not moving freely about and inch of movement suspect the pump

I cannot see any rod, the vacuum line goes into the back of the water pump, there is no coolant in the vacuum lines, I do see the vacuum is a slow buildup to 25" not sure if it should be quick to build vacuum Thanks
