Electrical issues
Replaced faulty alternator. Charging fine now, but dash panel and head lamps flashing all the time while car is running or key on.. ?????
you replaced it with a new OE or reman unit? Did you check the AC voltage coming out of the new alternator? no fault codes?
Check all modules for codes
Where did you get the alternator from? What was the original complaint?
Car came in with dead battery, after recharging battery alternator wasn't charging. Replaced alternator with Bosch unit, now charging 13.2 Volts and 75 Amps. Customer claims she had problem with all this lights flashing before she came here. I scanned all system, loaded with codes, clear and reset battery, same problem. Charging fine but dash and heads lights flashing.. Not sure if if is
and what happens to charging voltage when loads are turned on? blower motor on high. head lights, high beams, wipers.. and again what are you measuring as far as AC voltage coming out the alternator? Are you getting any voltage codes? voltage drop power cable from alternator to battery? how bout engine ground?
is it possible for you to post a copy of the code scan here? would really help with diagnosis.
Does it have an aftermarket alarm system installed that the current owner doesn't know about?
Is it like a security system that flashes the lights, or are they fluctuating dim to bright from the alternator voltage? If the battery is bad , then the alternator may be putting out too much AC voltage. If it's more like a security system, then maybe there is an aftermarket system wired in somewhere and hidden in the dash.
