GM SPS2 Error
Customer called in to program a used TCM to this vehicle after used transmission replacement. I get this error. Not sure if it is vehicle related or SPS2.
Tell this customer to get NEW TCM its less than $200. From Delcoline or Worldpac. P/N … (AcDelco $135.24 + Tax) - I was having a same issue with with 2007 Cadillac Escalade (ECM) and I ended up programming on bench and did 30min VTD. Check if you can communicate with TCM with scan tool first.
Obviously, the TCM was not communicating when this occurred, or dropped out during programming. SPS 2 does not play well with some of these older systems. It can cause the used module to fail/brick. Make sure communication works before attempting again. Used is always fun…
Just curious, why is the TCM getting replaced to begin with? Was transmission replaced due to a misdiagnosis to begin with?
That happens very commonly if you attempt to program a non-compatible TCM. What is the service number on that module?
