WorldPac commercial account for mobile / home based
First, I have used WorldPac for many years and have been very happy with the service at shops I have worked at. Over the last 5 years I have been in a Volvo Dealer and have seen some lacking support. I mainly did a lot of BMW work prior to these last 5 years so I don't know if that is just brand related or if something more. Is this just Volvo support lacking or is there more to this?
Second, I contacted WorldPac about getting setup with an account for my business. I am home based mobile. I don't want to contact a ton of vendors since a lot of them require a credit pull. My credit is excellent and I want to keep it that way. I felt as though the sales person wasn't very inclined to have me sign up or even guide me into the best option for my business. He states they wont deliver to a home based business because “They don't deliver to the end user. They only deliver to commercial accounts.” I told him I have all the required credentials (State business license, County BTR, City BTR, Commercial insurance, ect.) 100% legit. He was if I was even allowed to run a business this way. He then said it didn't matter since it was a residence. He did however state they could set me up with UPS delivery at my cost. The UPS delivery is an added expense to not great parts margins as it is and contradicts his initial statement. I have yet to return the application but I really don't know of another reputable replacement for WorldPac. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on similar situations they have encountered or share suggestions. Thanks!
find a friendly shop near your home, pay the owner $50-$100 month to use their address for your deliveries….do Will call from the WorldPac warehouse if near you, or plan ahead and order from RockAuto who are almost always cheaper if you don't need it today, and RA will deliver anywhere.
You can order Worldpac through your local Advance Auto parts store. Just set up a commercial account there.
Would you have to order through them or could you use the app? Do you know if pricing is the same? Worried about relying on the parts store guys for ordering the right parts.
That I’m not sure about, but I would use the app to look up the parts abs call the store with the part # if I were you. Where are you located in Florida? I’ll try to get you an Advance rep that knows what he’s doing.
We recently tried to set up a worldpac account at our shop. We use advance as our main supplier. Worldpac told us we would have to order through Advance, and the parts would be delivered by advance. They wont step on Advances toes.
How far is the warehouse from where you usually work. You can always will call parts and pick them up in person
Over 50 miles. They service twice daily to the area normally.
I agree with Richard. Set up an account with Advance auto parts. You can order anything from World Pac you want. I have done this for years, even when my local store was Carquest. It is also the same cost as if ordering straight from Worldpac. If you set up the web sight tied in to the store, you can look up the parts, get pricing and order parts without talking to parts counter people.
Yes, you can see all worldpac parts, part numbers and prices. I believe it is called Weblink through Advance.
