I am assuming you replaced the module with a used one. If so ,this is a Global A platform and only new modules will work 99% of the time.

diag.net/msg/m1vpuww9r0… - E4491/E4423 – Programming Failed. This error can be hard to diagnose, because it means that the application can communicate with the module but the it is unable to write all or part of the calibration due to an incompatibility. The most common cause of this is an aftermarket item being wired into the communication bus. *Salvage and poor quality reman…

I had the exact same codes come up on a 2015 GMC Acadia during a TEHCM programming due to a smoked transmission. Walked through the process with the support line for the company that sent the trans; they determined the TEHCM was bricked and sent a new one from GM. 2nd one programmed, but slipped badly and had no line pressure control electronically. Got a 2nd new trans sent; same codes as the…

Before you go any further I would go thru every module in the truck and make sure they have the correct VIN in each module.

Hi Wayne, What is the VIN and the part number that you got? Have you verified that the part # is correct? Are you following Document ID: 2637512? Have you selected Replace & Reprogram? If the answers are yes to those questions I would contact AC Delco for assistance.

Vin # 1GKS2BKCXGR308423 Steering Lock control module Part # …, We paid for programming , Its sad that AC Delco doesn't want to assist. Iam using a Bosch J2534 Vci So it should be fine with that and a Deutronic DBL 1600 -14 power supply . All bone stock no A/M anything. I have everything hard wired, Cap 5 / USB into the VCI , Followed the SPS directions key on , doors closed / 5 min. wait…

Hi Wayne, That's the correct module for that VIN. Once the vehicle has a branded title/salvaged vehicle the manufacturer doesn't support the vehicle anymore. I guess the potential liability if the vehicle was not put together correctly has them in a position where they won't assist. That's something to consider when purchasing a vehicle like this, or buying it back from the insurance company…

Hi Scott: I've seen numerous issues with Bosch VCI. It's become a crapshoot. Hard to image why since it hasn't been updated in approximately 7 years. Ive moved my customers into the MDI-2. Problems solved. (Of course, they didn't have branded titles either.) Guido

Thank You Guido , Both units are made by Bosch , They look the same except for the color. Even my Ford VCM2 Is made by Bosch except its Red, Do they just tweak something on the OE tool ?

Hi Wayne: Before I fired Bosch in 2008, they told us that the VCI did some things that the original MDI would not. (They also said a lot of things. A classic …e of when all is said and done, more has been said than done.) As you know, the MDI was superseded years ago. While it is still supported by GM, the Bosch VCI is not supported by anyone. If you don't know where to look, you will not…
