Sunroof Creeking Noise - 2018 Jeep
Hey everyone had a 2018 Jeep Compass with a concern for creeking noise coming from sunroof over bumps. Road tested vehicle heard creecking noise. Regreased sunroof track and re road tested with someone else driving noise was still there. During second road test I put pressure on sunroof and noise stop. I just want to add this is a front and rear sunroof I felt that could play a factor with this concern due to the size of the sunroof and the body is flexing between the roof and sunroof frame, not sure looking for other thoughts. Thank you
No bulletins or star cases? Maybe something left loose during production? Can you drive another one and see if it does the same thing?
Nothing loose no damage. Star says to grease track
Did you grease the track as stars says and see if it fixes it? We have a sister store on the same lot I cam ask them tomorrow if they have seen it. They sell a lot of Jeeps there.
I greased track after first road test and still there. On the second road test after I greased the track I put pressure on the sunroof with both hands. Someone else was driving. Noise went away
If you could ask your sister store about the concern and see if they have delt with something similar
Did you lubricate the seals with window rail lubricant or silicone lubricant? It might just be the glass slipping against the seal.
have you tried road testing with the sunroof frame out of the vehicle? I had a 2018 jeep grand Cherokee that the left rear quarter by the c pillar had a broken weld. had to send the vehicle to a body shop. also the sunroof frames on these vehicle are very flimsy they easy bend and cause creaking noises over uneven roads.
