WiTech 1 stand alone? will it work?
After much research I have found a way to make an unsecured Micropod work as a stand alone WiTech1. I know many of us were frustrated when they turned them off. There are many vehicles that you just cannot complete without 1. I have not tried to program or do a vehicle restore yet and will advise what the results are when I do. I didn't want to go clone or bootleg. Since I am a reseller for the micropod 2 and witech 2 and do not want to risk losing that arrangement. I will just tell you google is your friend.
Sam, Programming will not work as Chrysler has turned off the file access to their servers. You will get a sundown message that burns the Operating system.
I am not as concerned about programming. There are many times I have needed to do a pcm replaced function that only works in witech1. I was hoping to do restore vehicle config. It is not the end of the world though.
Maybe it's just me, but this sounds like a very shady post. I was under the impression this was a professional website for professionals. This sounds very back doorish and shady. Maybe i'm misunderstanding what you are saying. But maybe i'm not.
Chrysler has shut off witech1 to the aftermarket. Mking it impossible to do some things. I was merely stating I have figured out to make it work as a stand alone scanner so you can do some functions nothing else will do. Many dealers have asked if I could do all of their witech1 stuff since they did not want to mess with it. Shady yes. Sometimes you have to find a way to get things done. I would
I would not classify this as shady. You are not doing anything illegal or pirating any software (to my knowledge). I see it as a work around to get the job done, if need be. Nice job
Good for you Sam! Kinda wondered if somebody would figure that out. Probably how all the clones get made too, (but that is none of our business.) Should be illegal for them to shut-down legally purchased tools.
I am using an unsecure authentic pod. Yes I had to manipulate the software. It works. I attempted a restore vehicle config yesterday. To nobody's surprise that didn't work. I was able to do a pcm replaced function in an early 05 300c
