Yeah - you definitely want to run SDD in a Virtual Machine if you can. It is a massive resource hog and it ties up your machine with updates almost continuously if it has access. Additionally, you should keep a copy of v156 or so around in a virtual machine - it is significantly better for “legacy” applications than anything after. v160 and above has a hard time building an accurate config file…
