USB radio update
I have a question. After this car does a complete power down(at least 1 hour) the next key on cycle the radio/nav screen will not illuminate and the radio will not power up until about 5 minutes later. After that you can cycle the ignition multiple times and the radio powers up immediately. Then let sit for a power down and it happens again. There are no codes. There are multiple TSBs for USB flash updates for the radio. The TSBs say to use Dealer Connect to obtain the files. My question : is it possible to buy a subscription and obtain these files via TechAuthority or is this DealerConnect only? Also is it possible to have a DealerConnect login and not be an FCA dealer? Im at a GM dealer and do USB updates all the time. I understand GM is not FCA but I am familiar with the USB flash idea and process. Thanks guys.
There are some consumer available USB updates available online. I have updated Chrysler radios with it before. It is PITA to do as you have to follow the instructions exactly. This may be an option. If you really need the Dealer Connect access, AE Tools has a way to get these files. They charge a fee for access but it keeps you from visiting the dealer.
Thanks so Michael. Thats exactly what Im looking for!

I actually do have a U0140 lost comm with BCM, a U0147 lost comm with Telematics an a U0184 lost comm with radio all history. If I clear them they do come back after a long power down while the radio is inop. During a health report when the radio is black it will wake up when…
