Sport Exhaust Function Is Reversed

After every start, the dual tailpipe button is lit and the mufflers have vacuum applied and are in ‘quiet’ mode. The mufflers get loud when the button is pressed off. This is the reverse of normal operation. Everything appears to be factory installed. the switch and solenoid are connected directly to the DME. Unable to function test using Autologic. No coding options and reflash with Autologic didn't change anything. Found a TSB for 997 sport exhaust retrofit, It doesn't show and coding or programming involved, It's all plug and play???

You may have a faulty or wrong switch over valve for the muffler vacuum control, I would start checking there first.

Wrong Valve maybe? this one is normally closed, allows no vacuum to pass thru when off. muffler button on, solenoid is powered, vacuum passes thru to muffler vacuum actuators, closing the extra pipes, making it quiet. Every other one I've seen is loud When the button is pushed. I'll check the next one that comes in equipped with this setup and see if the solenoid is normally opened

I'm fairly sure this is normal. 997's automatically enter quiet mode because of some European noise laws. You have to press the button off to get loud noises. But on 996's it is backwards and have loud exhaust all the time and have to hit the button to reduce fun. Autologic and Porsche in the by-directional department is hit and miss. Some things will work, and some will error.
