SCN Coding DODGE Sprinter Van
We are having trouble trying to get Witech to read info from old TCM and write into new. When inhaling the TCM info the WiTech software hangs and does not progress. Module information is readable on both ecus. There is a way to program from scratch but it appears to require dealer level access with security credentials. Any ideas?
I highly recommend calling Bluelink and seeing they can do it. It’s a remote login service that does scn coding for us on Benz when we need it. Quick and painless.
I second giving blue link a ring.
Thanks for the recommendations. As we already pay for WiTech, hoping that a fix can be found. Have Iscan3 with SCN ability but not decoding Dodge VIN.
I have a feeling there may be a wiTech2.0/Sprinter issue, even though FCA states that wiTech 2 is the tool to use. I know there are certain things only the original wiTECH will do which we no longer have access to. I may may be completely wrong on this one, but there have been many bugs found with certain vehicles in the FCA line. I would suspect the Sprinter line would have more than the others. For instance you can program a VW Routan using wiTECH2.0, if you keep the key off and manually enter a VIN from a Grand Caravan or Town and Country (They may have found a way to lock this down since the last time I had to do this). I wish i could help with this one, but I will be following along to see what the outcome is. By the way Michael, I have a few questions regarding some EEPROM equipment. Is there a way I can email you or text you?
Do you have a drb3 and a Sprinter/Crossfire multiplex cable? I am just curious if that is even an option.
DRBIII Emulator is down right now. Do have the Multiplex cable though. Being 2008, I thought too new for DRBIII.
Benjamin, You can send a friend request on linked in or facebook.
The Chrysler transmission information does not tell me what Daimler transmission is in it unfortunately. There could be a Daimler 722.6 or a 722.9 transmission in the truck. My guess is a 722.6. That would put the ECU into the family of EGS53. If it is a 722.9 that is something different.
If it is a 722.6 with EGS53 I have to ask why the TCM is getting replaced? Those as well as EGS51,52 are bulletproof.
Is there a bulletin? If EGS53 many but not all can be programmed using Daimler software. I can't be much help with DRB xxx.
All I got my friend!
Would the vin help identify the trans type?
They should all be 722.6 in Sprinter.
The replacement is not our call. We were asked to program the TCM by the shop that diagnosed it. The module was determined to be defective by them.
not sure where you are located, but if you are in phoenix area i would be happy to assist you.
Thank you for the offer. We are in Northern Utah. It is quite a haul for us to get to Phoenix.
Drb 3 only work till 2006 sprinter and it will not help you. Since Mercedes and Chrysler divorce. Chrysler is not doing much with sprinter and witech.i have seen since witech alot of info is missing and I seen where the incorrect data is display by the tool. TCM are very rare malfunction in sprinters. I would find out why they want to replace TCM.Xentry would be proper tool when come sprinters. Autologic should be able do it.i have done it. Even autologic has fallen way behind when come to sprinters
