Hyundai Kia electronic continous variable valve timing e-cvvt
Hello, can someone explain how newer ecvvt systems work on Hyundai Kia engine. Fairly new system to me. Has DC motor controls valve timing. thank you.
Upkar Have you reviewed the previously posted information? "ecvvt" typed into the search feature (magnifying glass icon next to the "post" button on the home page) has some good intro information
Too hard to explain for me but in youtube, "engineering explained" has a video on it. HD has lots of other good info as well youtu.be/uhsgdwUX1-w
EDIT: My apologies, Upkar. I mistook which system you were referring to! Stephen has the correct system linked in his reply below. Type 'hyundai cvvd' into any search engine. There's a plethora of good information out there. I second the video Gerald suggested for a good look at the moving parts.
Check out the manufacturer's site. ksportagegl.com/e_cvvt_motor_d…
Hello Stephen, Do you understand that image?; ksportagegl.com/images/e_cvvt….gif what do the orange arrows and blue arrows mean? All I can gather from it is "we adjust the timing a lot" - not which direction is which, or the difference between orange and blue.
Unfortunately I have not been able to find any other info on it. This is the only thing I found. It does say they function or degree the cams the same manner as the mechanical cvvt systems do. Hopefully someone else will have a better explanation than this. My best guess is it showing vvt changes under different conditions. As far as explaining this, I'd like to know more myself. Sorry I…
