Search Function Questions
When searching for a camshaft/crankshaft waveform to use to compare to this vehicle I was unable to locate one.
I used the words; 2010, 10, 2.5L, Fusion, cam, crank, ckp, cmp, waveform, alone or together in different groups and found nothing helpful in my search results. Some results were for a 2013 1.6L Turbo Fusion and some were for 2007 Fusion, but nothing that came close to what I needed.
So, I moved on to Google and the first page of my search results returned this.
For those who prefer a screen shot to a link, here you go.
I know it is for a hybrid Fusion but I'm guessing the 2.5L engine is still basically the same.
What did I do wrong? How can I do a better job searching her on diag.net
Let me preface this response with saying, we definitely need to find the time to focus on the search engine and improve it. However, when I searched for: 2010 fusion 2.5L ckp I received 2 results, one of which was this discussion here, and the other was the message that contained the file you referenced. I tried a few other combos, and was also able to find the message you referenced that…
Tom, I tried the exact same search string as you. I also received 2 results which are shown below. diag.net/file/f3ps7r0gb… Neither of which were helpful. I even tried a copy/paste of your search string and received the same results. Must be me I guess. Eric
I see what is happening… you need to change Subscriptions to All Messages (or, may be, Resources) diag.net/file/f5ecl905b…
Dmitriy I use the All Types filter for searching. diag.net/file/f7192l06p… After you pointed this out, I tried using the Resources filter as well as the All Messages filter, both of which returned the proper results. For whatever reason the All Types filter didn't work this time. Thanks for the help, Eric
That would be “all types” within “Subscriptions” didn't work, correct? “all types” within “all messages” should work. It's a hierarchy.
Hi Eric, Assuming the waveform was uploaded and tagged with a vehicle, one might try using the vehicle pulldown filter and then just type the engine size and sensor acronym like this: In other cases you might find success using the engine code. Try filtering the search for ALL FCA using ERB CKP as your search term and you'll see what I'm referring to.
