Remote Vehicle Start In-Op

So I have the vehicle above. The key FOB remote start does not work. The customer said it used to work. The lights false when you hold the button but nothing after that. Yes I did hit the lock button on the remote start first. No codes in PCM. BCM only has a radio code(vehicle has aftermarket radio) The remote vehicle start data in the BCM and ECM are not showing any reasons for vehicle no starting. The BCM is showing all doors closed. I replaced the FOB but still got same results. I looked through the vehicle instrument and found nothing stating remote start disabled. I did not see any valet options. No I am at a lose of what to test next next. 

NOTE: I did test the new FOB with me sitting in the vehicle. I don't believe I was standing outside of the vehicle.

My 09 Silverado requires me to hit the lock button twice before it will remote start. It won't do it until the horn chirps from the lock function…Mine is a crew cab though, so not sure if it is different on a 2 door if this vehicle only has 2 doors.

Seems like I remember a remote start reset option in the Engine module on a GM vehicle I fixed for no remote start a while back. Can’t remember all the details but I do know it was a GDS2 vehicle.

Just throwing out there even though no U DTC, but after reading Williams remote inop attachment worth adding perhaps , corroded up RCDLR on the back floor been known to get soaked and sitting water causes no crank/start/draw from a leaking 3rd brake light these years Silverado/Sierra there is a TSB reseal for it also possible visible water leaks witness marks headliner and pillars .

I can't remember exactly where to look, but there should be in one of the modules a reason stated for the remote start rejection. look in rcdlr Most of the ones i have seen were the hood ajar switch

I'll add one thing to William's comprehensive checklist that has always narrowed down the problem for me....except once. Just throwing this out there because it had twists and turns. Silverado ('11-'13 roughly) customer went to locksmith to get new fob because it had been lost. Told locksmith it had remote start fob. Locksmith got key cut and vehicle started. That is insane that because it was a salvage they wouldn't allow for a remote start to be installed or activated. That is just dump.

SO first off I lost the photos of the RPO code so I will have to go get those again. But in the RCDLR the module is seeing a command to auto start. Again I am not seeing any reasons in the BCM or PCM for vehicle to not auto start. The vehicle does have a radio code in the BCM due to an aftermarket radio but I swear that I have never had and aftermarket radio cause the AutoStart to not work. Some…

2011 and 2014 are very different. 2014 is a global A car while 2011 is not. Post the VIN and I will get you the vehicle RPO build.

So I called GM and was able to get a calibration. Cost me $140.00. $100.00 for the updated file and $40.00 for the SPS. I then reprogrammed the customer remote and a new one I sold him. They are very happy. I did give them the option of doing aftermarket auto start, but they wanted factory only and was more then willing to pay.
