Fault #29

I have fault 29 for ODS. I have attempted to calibrate / relearn zero point using Autel maxisys tool. I do not believe the procedure is completing properly?? Fault does not clear. I have verified B+ to module and checked wiring under the seat also... Identifix has a tech tip stating only the Select Monitor III Has the ability??? Has anybody been successful doing the relearn procedure on Subaru ODS with other tooling?

Just in case you did not see it, are you are aware that there is a TSB for a revised zeroing procedure NUMBER: 07-84-14. You might have seen it but wanted to mention it anyway.

Thanks James - the procedure is spelled out very well in the Autel it matches the TSB. after selecting OK to start the procedure - screen says its re learning dont touch seat then it just goes back to the menu for starting the procedure....

have you submitted the log and fault to Autel through the tool? If so, what was the response?

Yes - Vehicle was purchased with SRS light on by my customer - seat belts were deployed and clock spring wires were cut... I have completed these items and am left with fault 29. Perhaps i have a issue with ODS and it needs more than a re-learn procedure? I did not want to sell ODS parts if i have a tooling issue

Hi Bill. I seen all the answer that has been given about the ODS system on your Subaru. for what I know only the Subaru tool has the capability of doing the calibration, I had one about two months ago, and I try every single aftermarket scan tool and was not successfully. i order the Subaru OE scanner and that was able to do it.

I have had Hondas that I needed to bang the seat back with my hand several times and it took.
