Programming
2008 Saturn Astra XE 1.8L (1 2H0) 4-spd (AF17)—W08AR671785075555
No Crank / No Start

Trying to get the immobilizer system programmed after installing and programming a reman ecm. I have the 4 digit immo pin code. The Tech 2 doesn't list this vehicle under Saturn menu. I looked for Opel option and couldn't find that either. Talking with AC Delco aftermarket tech support they mentioned a Saturn card for the Tech2. Never heard of one. Also said they could load some software on to my laptop, but would have to remove it when finished ?? SI reads like the same procedure as a Saab, remove module...add module....request security access. The only difference is the pin code. SPS had the vehicle in menu and I was able to perform programming. No theft learn options there. Only other time I've had GM with a pin code was a 2006 GTO witch was actually a Holden from Australia. That required multiple tech line calls to remedy, I am returning to this vehicle later this week when tech support is available. Thanks in advance for any input.

Someone had this same problem the other day on a Saturn and posted on this site. I think the repliers had mentioned there is an adapter a red adapter maybe required. I can’t remember. Sorry not much help.

You need the Tech2 Card for the Astra, you would have to have a card you can overwrite and pay AC Delco $250 to download the Astra data onto your card. Or you can find someone who has it and borrow it.

Hi Bruce, a quick online search showed no Saturn cards but there is an Opel card. I know this is a German produced Opel. Would that have what I'm looking for on it ? Thanks.

Hi Benjamin, The red adapter is only used when programming 1996 to 1999 Saturn S-cars. It has a special 16V power supply in it.

Hi Paul, Here's a couple of youtube videos I put up on what you'll need to do. Sorry, but they're a little rough. :-) youtube.com/watch?v=rFLvBB… This works the best if you have Tech2Win, but you can do it with changing your Tech 2 card. You can buy a 3 day subscription for Tech2Win here - acdelcotds.com/subscriptions Here's the part on learning the Immobilizer…

As I'm thinking about this - you might contact AC Delco again and see which 'subscription' will give you access to do a software download to change your data on the "Tech2" from NAO to Saturn Astra, or if they're willing to do this with SPS access.

For what it's worth I own a 2008 Astra and have purchased parts for it under the Vauxhall Astra. Possibly another option. Good luck

Sorry for the delay in posting an update on this vehicle. Had to put it on the back burner for a while. As Scott Chase had shown in his videos, you can purchase a short term Tech2Win subscription and download the specific Saturn Astra software. I initially loaded it onto a laptop with Windows7 Pro and couldn't complete the download. AC Delco aftermarket tech support said they couldn't remote in…

Hi Paul, You can, and should be able to use Tech2Win to do this. Did you click the "Security Access" tab and let that run with Tech2Win open?
