Over the engine creeper made by Nomad mfg
I found on youtube.com What could be a better folding over the engine creeper while reading the comments on a more popular creeper. It is made by nomad.mfg in Arizona. They make a fold up version for storage called the "fold away" and a standup version called "the elevator". Here is the link to the video on youtube showing how to assemble it and put it away. youtube.com/watch?v=lMRP8N…
Here is a review from an actual user: youtube.com/watch?v=APjo8u… What do you folks think of this piece of equipment? It is a quite the investment in upfront cost I am wondering if someone else owns it or has used it. I am looking for your viewpoints. I am tired of having a sore back and knees resting on a hard radiator support and the like.
Michael, looks to be about $1,000? How much is your medical insurance deductible? How much do you lose if you miss work? What about scratching the vehicle paint? Your back, your knee's. Like many tools this should last a life time. I rarely have to go high. Most often I'm on the floor. There are days when I wish I had an elevating creeper! If anybody knows of one please post it.
Hello Rex, Yes, it is about 1000 dollars. My deductible is way more than that. Being almost 51 years old I need to be more careful and not work like I am 18 years old. I do a fair amount of engine repairs in the chassis, I thought a piece of equipment like this would keep me moving and not so much aches and pains.
I have one like this. northernautoparts.com/part/re-3-700 I wouldn't be without it.
Hi Albin, I was considering the that model pro gear creeper. I saw a review of it on youtube . The shipping box was ripped open and was missing parts and portions of it were bent. The guy needed it the next day for a project and that had to repair the bent parts and replace the missing bolts.
I have the original, Albin's (above) must be the newer one. amazon.com/Traxion-3-100…
Thank you Geoff for the feedback !
Saw this at sema last year looks impressive, I would have bought one if i didnt have a topside creeper already
Thank you Timothy for the feedback of someone who has seen it in person !
Michael Don't know if this is real, but always thought that this would be a great creeper (it is not a top side, but sure beats getting up and down often) youtube.com/watch?v=SJ68kj…
That is very cool piece of gear. I think a big truck dealership chain like mack has them as essential equipment. I bet it is very expensive though.
I also saw the unit at SEMA and our shop purchased it. It is a great unit and the only complaint I have is the angle of the platform is slightly upwards from parallel and it has to be raised higher than desired on some vehicles due the diagonal diving board support hitting the radiator core support (You can see this in the video of Dodge truck posted above). If the unit had an adjustment for the…
Hello, Jason thank you very much for the hands on evaluation.
That human hoist offered by MACK truck is $14,900 dollars !!! It looks very cool but is way out of my budget.
