Can SPS program this via J2534 with SPS
My customer just put a transmission in this 2017 Savana and needs it to be programmed.
I tried to check vehicle coverage on Autel site since I do have a J2534 from Autel and a Maxisys Elite, but I cannot seem to get any results.
Thanks
If you have access to HP tuners it would be much easier to program.
Yes you have to buy subscription ac Delco website 40 each vin you have to download Autel drivers for laptop from autel support website you Run Java sps with jbox hook up to laptop trough usb you select on prompted Menu your j box j2534 non Gm oem once you see connection and vehicle vin detected you will see option to program desired module
It sure would be nice to know which modules are programmable with SPS and which are not. Or is it safe to assume that GM lets you program all their modules with SPS?
David, with GM SPS2 you have capability to program all modules when you buy a subscription. This is in contrast to some other manufacturers where you can only do Powertrain modules (ECM/TCM/4x4/Hybrid pwrtrn)
Kerry, you're info is incorrect. SPS2 does allow the option of programming older modules and low speed modules, but so far, it has been super effed up with no resolution in sight. Low speed/non-CAN modules are proving very problematic to flash, either with MDI, the Tech 2 or anything else. I have all of this equipment, and most of the time, it does not work AT ALL, under the new SPS 2 system…
Kind of scares me from accepting SPS jobs. I hope GM will at least take some responsibility for bricked modules and refund the subscriptions. I do take all necessary precautions like using a quality battery maintainer holding the system above 13.9VDC, and having my J2534 updated to latest versions. There software usually makes sure the Java is updated.
Well, I'm warning the shops about it, and letting them make the call, until GM wants to get this rollout fixed, I guarantee nothing.
David, Pawel is correct, you should also check to make sure your VCI has the latest software. Do this with your Maxisys table by going to the vci icon on the bottom then selecting vci update on the left side of the screen. There will be several options in SPS for an Autel vci, it's a trial and error thing, pick one and try to communicate if it doesn't work try another until you can connect.
