Navistar Dtc 2242
2009 NAV 4300 9H693848 setting code DTC 2242 aka SPN 1442 FMI 2 defineds as "Injection Control Pressure command 10% higher than last learned command under same conditions" Cause: possible ICP system leak.
I am very familiar with ICP system issues on these engines. Just do not remember ever seeing this code. Anybody else seen it? It means a possible leak. There are usually other codes related to that. This code is showing up on it's own. Injectors were replaced a while back on this engine. Code started a short time after they were done. This was called into me by the shop that did the injectors.
Truck is running fine but is occaisionally throwing a MIL light. MIL light condition is a little vague. “Lamp is illuminated after second or third notification” This is pre OBD HD.
Thanks
I haven’t had this code before. but do you happen to know if the oil manifold seals were changed out when they did they injectors?
Rex, I'm not familiar with this engine or system, however when reading your post one thing caught my attention. You state the code definition to be: "Injection Control Pressure command 10% higher than last learned command under same conditions" and that it started happening after the injectors were replaced. Is there a relearn that needs to be done after replacing the injectors? Or does the…
To all. This generation, EPA 07 does not have to relearn. EPA 10 does. Called Coil End Of Motion (COEM). Don't know if they replaced the pucks or put new o'rings on. We always replace the puck. There is a nonservicable o'ring inside and I think a wave washer also. That puck is actually in 2 pieces. There have been 6 or more part number changes which I assume (yeah that word) means design…
I’ve seen an ICP Adaptation code that follows the same symptom description. The issue with trying to do ICP diagnostics through the NED software on the newer Maxxforce Engine is that Navistar wants you to run their CPA equipment to determine the ICP leak, With that being said, I’ve usually been able to just 12v the IPR and disconnect the Injector coils to determine the ICP leak. The pucks that…
Turbo is at the turbo shop. Will be about another week and a half. It looked kind of bad. Will update this when we get it back together.
Have not heard any more from shop that posed question. Kevin Looney did have one idea. This might actually be a fuel issue i.e. fuel restriction. Engine is trying to compensate and so ICP % is moving out of table boundary. Might never find out. Going to close.
