Land Rover Short Term Subscriptions
Hi all, blew the dust off my dedicated LR/JAG SDD laptop and packed a lunch in preparation to embark on the download and update session for SDD.
Whoo, all done, not too bad. Hmm, last time I used this thing was almost 2 years ago so it's a short term sub for me.
But wait, I need it to do add a couple of keys.
I understand that one requires a yearly subscription in order to access security functions in SDD.
Question: Is this true?
Also, what is the best aftermarket key programmer out there, I use OE for most of what I do?
Hi Todd, I am not very familiar with SDD. I have tried it a few times and got real frustrated with the time it took to install. As far as aftermarket goes, Autologic has decent Rover Coverage. I have replaced clusters and programmed ECUs with it. You have to maintain the pro version for this. It is much easier and faster than the SDD program. The Iscan III by Autoland Scientech is good with…
Yeah, AL. You probably remember me from the Utah conference in 14 or 2015. You drove me to the airport. Install was actually very fast this time around. My question was: can you get in with a short term sub? Reason I ask is, on the registration page it accepted my LSID and Authy to go forward so I thought short term was a go, maybe.
I don't give a f**k about $60 to find out but I have sent 3 emails to LR support with no response. And I am not thrilled about giving money to an OE that couldn't care less about me.
What email address are you using? I made an account years ago I could never log in to and support never returned my emails. I tried again with that account a few weeks ago and support responded quickly this time. I emailed … as they closed their other email accounts. I can't help you with your original question, but it always appeared that when you are buying a…
Thanks, that's good info. How did you find out about the correct email or even the fact that the others were "decomissioned"?
I emailed the … account on the "Contact Us" page just for fun. I made a second account a long time ago that works fine and just thought why not. The other addresses were part of the automated reply when I wrote back that the account was now working. This was on July 11th, well past the May 3rd date. I got a human reply and issue resolved in 41 minutes! EDIT: The guy…
So, I emailed that address with my question and received exactly the same response that Brandon posted. Didn't answer my question either. Well, it was night time there, maybe I will get a response tonight. I think I am just going to drop the money and try.
Hey Todd, I get your drift on the AL deal. Good to hear that the install goes quicker. I was responding more to the aftermarket key programming part. -Mike
Hey Todd, as far as the security access functions you will need to pay the yearly subscription, but you will also need to submit you LSID to Jaguar. Once they approve your application for security function access, they will get you a two factor authentication log in and there you go. Take a look at the link, Iw will take you the the SDD/Topix registrations page, as well as supply you with…
I buy a year every year for the past 10 years. This year is the first with the trust center to purchase security. Before that JLR would set you up with access thru proof of sdrm. Its a bit of a learning curve to use it but not that bad.I have the pathfinder also but have not used that yet.
Thanks David. So its one year or no go?
