This will be a three-part class on diagnosing electrical issues using a variety of methods and tools. Each section will cost $55 and between one and a half to two hours long.

Part 1: Testing Fundamentals, Series Circuit Analysis & Wiring Diagram Analysis

Part one will focus on developing a solid and repeatable testing routine, expectations of what you expect to see on your meter, navigating wiring diagrams, and understanding how different circuits work.

Automotive Electronics Part 2: Scope Setup & Signal Acquisition

Part two will show how to set up your lab scope to put the picture of an electrical event on the screen. Learn a step-by-step process that can be applied to both Pico and Snap-On scopes. At the end, a case study is provided to show the importance of using the lab scope when scan data and voltmeter fall short.

Automotive Electronics Part 3: Case Studies

Part three will take all the information and methods we’ve learned and apply them to real broken vehicles. Case studies will include Ford & Toyota vehicles and will show technicians how to diagnose a variety of faults such as fuse issues, diagnosing O2 heater circuits, CAN Bus & LIN Bus diagnostics.
