Some one other than me already replace both cam and crank sensor. Ok so I like the cam pattern and the crank looks ok but the big pull up in the crank does not line up with either leading edge or falling edge on the cam and also I found a pattern for an 05 5.7 on here but that had a different crank pattern with a long pull down that this one doesn’t have. I might add that this oscilloscope is new to me and I am far from comfortable with using them though I have used them before.

When in doubt, go in-cylinder. I would not compare differing years unless you know for certain the cam/crank pattern is the same. The same engines can have different gears, throughout the years.

This is a known good from a 2014 5.7. Your timing is off.

Hi Michael, An 05' has a totally different running strategy than a 2013. Like Rudy suggested do an in cylinder pressure and that will confirm a physical timing problem. That is if you have a transducer setup to test with. I recently purchased a cheaper one to experiment with. PICO makes one of the best kits, but it is out of my budget currently. Another member gave you a known good pattern…

That timing does look off compared to what Jeremy provided. You could check engine vacuum at this point as well, I would expect low engine vacuum which could account for the rich codes listed. Does it appear that anyone did any timing chain repair before you got it.

if you do a tear down to check the timing I have a couple recommendations. First is to take an engine oil pressure reading with a mechanical gauge before tear down and compare it to specifications. Low oil pressure can cause the cam phaser to not respond like it should and set correlation faults. I would also recommend you remove the intake to access the oil control valve for the phaser and…

Any evidence of an engine swap, by chance? The 03-08 used a 32 tooth reluctor, 09-12 used a 58t, and the 13-newer changed again.
