2015 Chrysler 200 BCM
I have a 2015 Chrysler 200 from another shop with a right high beam problem that was traced to the BCM.
They have a used BCM they what installed but I cannot find any info on installing a used module,
Can you use a used BCM in this car or do you need a new module?
Have to install a new bcm on this vehicle. You will get vin mismatch dtc's and can not erase the vin from the former vehicle
I work at a Dodge dealer. The only procedure we have is for replacing and programming a NEW Body Control Module. I can not tell you if installing a USED module will work or not. You can try the same procedure that is applicable for a NEW module. I included it in this reply. PROGRAM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) - Press the ignition (or turn the key). You should…
I’d suggest measuring circuit resistance on the faulty side and comparing it to the good side. Chrysler modules will sometimes turn off a circuit that’s out-of-range for protection and it will appear to be a bum module. BTDT
Hi Rusty The body shop had already tried another light assembly and I checked and load tested the wiring between the module and light and found no problem. Thanks
What I said was to measure the circuit resistance at the module plug and compare it to the “good” side. If this is post-collision repair, I’d bet a case of Blue Moon that they overlooked some damage, spliced a harness wrong, or used an incorrect lamp.
Hi Rusty I did test the resistance as you stated and it was good sorry I was a little unclear about my testing. I'm retired and closed my shop but I still do a little side work for other shops so I have time to play around when I want so I went ahead and tried the used module and so far found no way to make it work, but the headlights work fine now. I'm sure somehow there may be a way to…
James, What tool did you utilize to try to program?
I hv same issue so used won’t work right
Unfortunately the days of putting used modules in these newer vehicles are coming to an end. It sort of started with gm and their global architecture. They made it so the vin locks to the module and cannot be changed by conventional methods. Yes their are some who can erase or virginize it with special software or via eeprom tools but then it starts getting to the point where it's not worth it…
But am bean able to flash the bcm and vin written successfully my only issue is my account not dealer connect so not getting pin to do misc functio,my car is 2018,can someone assist with code to proof completing of job
Many newer fca vehicles use a rolling pin that changes constantly. Not to mention that the algorithm is different between the dealer and aftermarket side. For example if you are lucky enough to have the dealership parts guy give you the pin it's going to come from dealer connect. If you are using a tech authority / aftermarket account to enter the pin it'll say that it's incorrect. You would…
Then I agree with u,cus am using tech authority account and got a code but I get wrong pin,can someone with dealer conn account assist me by teamviewer
flash Bcm module by j2531 the use Autel to enter wireless then do bcm replacement
Only way that it can be done is using CDA6 .Have Cousin in Mexico that do used modules on these all the time from … but software not available in U.S.A.
My car 2018 can it work
Thanks everyone for your reply. I tried for a while to get the used module to work but at this time I could not find a way. The reason we tried the used module is that the dealer said the new one was a week out and the shop wanted to get the car done, and I also wanted to see if it would work. There may be a way to make it work but at this time it is not worth it to chase it down. A new…
HI James, If you are stuck with the used module, I would be interested to see if there is a way to change the VIN. -Mike
Hi Mike They are going to send it back for a refund but he said I could keep it for a while. What would you need me to do? James
Bro get in touch let’s try something out on Skype, benjamin…
Hi Benjamin My witech sub runs out this morning and I'm not going to renew until the new module gets here unless something else comes in and I need it. If I still have the used module at that time I would be willing to try. Thanks
