2011 Ford Edge APIM programming and OASIS questions
Hello Diag.net I have a few questions on this 2011 Ford Edge that I need to program a new APIM module on. I have a current subscription to OASIS - Ford Service Info, but when I try to “Read VIN & DTCs” a message pops up stating that the computer does not have IDS installed. The laptop I am using has IDS installed with a current subscription and I am using a VCM II. This is my first using OASIS and I am wondering if there is a setting or authentication process I have missed?? I have called the Ford help line, but they could provide me with any direction.
My second question is about the APIM programming process. I am unclear about what cable goes where? Do I need a USB flash drive? Does the USB flash drive get plugged into the VCM II? The APIM has two mini USB ports on the back of it, but only is used on the vehicle, and there are the USB ports in the center console. Does the laptop plug directly into the APIM with the USB to mini USB cable?
I appreciate any help on this. Thank you!
went thru something similar last week. paid both subscriptions. FJDS and IDS to be able to program a new air bag module. Believe IDS also just had fresh updates a few days ago, make sure most up to date software and or make sure updater is installed. and not sure how to do the APIM, does it instruct thru USB? or possible thru OBD port.
For the error, set your browser security to except the PTS website. The mini USB is plugged into the Cable that plugs into the backside of the center counsel usb (Remove and unplug the usb port) and yes you’ll need a Flash drive to complete the process, needs to be formatted correctly. EXFAT or FAT32, can remember which. It’s one of those 2. It will plug in to the center counsel usb. I recommend…
I need to Register OASIS ACCOUNT(fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com). Lot of Ford Vehicles hear(in Lagos) needing programming, reprogramming, Coding etc. Both Europe Ford and American Ford. Someone kindly help me. My contact …whatsapp); live:ejaikbros2011(Skype); …. Please! please!! please!!! Urgently needed.
Sean, thank you sir! I updated the security setting to have the PTS website be trusted and then it connected to the VCM no problem. Next step will be figuring out the correct USB drive…. baby steps.
Use the VCMII to identify the vehicle and read DTC's in OASIS. Then click on SYNC programming in Diagnostics tab. You can then choose Module Programming and Read Sync. It should choose the correct programming selections based on the current programming state of the APIM. I usually install applications with a flash drive through the media hub.
Jordan, Make sure you are using Internet Explorer, it looks like you are. I am also attaching the Ford browser settings information below. As far as the USB, OEM calls for USB Mini B Female if there is a Media Hub installed (SD Card reader) this cable is not very common. To work around this use a USB Mini B Male cable (the one you have a picture of) and plug it into the USB that the media Hub…
Chris, Thank you for the settings! I will check those. I did get OASIS to ID a vehicle and read the vehicle after changing the web browser security settings. It does have a SD card reader along with two usb ports (see photo above). So I will need to remove the Media Hub and plug into the cable as you described. I do not have the vehicle in the shop yet, I am just trying to make sure I have…
If it does need a USB flash drive, does it need to be something special (i.e. EXFAT or FAT32 as Sean stated)? I have this new flash drive already.
SYNC versions 1 and 2 need FAT32 format (the version with 4 part screens: phone, radio, compass/nav, and Climate) newer Sync 3 needs exFAT Also if equipped with navigation make sure you pick it in the sync programming options screen,
Chris kindly Assist me. I want to creat https://www.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com account. But I was unable. I need this account because I work a lot on European ford. Wnat to use the following info.: Username: Ejaikbros Email: ….
Euro Fords are not supported on that site, only US Market vehicles are supported.
Thanks for your reply. However I need this account with the site because I work on many ford hear in Lagos. European, American, and Australian ford vehicles. As a mobile auto technician and programmer am constantly faced with works that I should have been able to complete If have dealerconnection account. At the end a mobile programmer from Ford Dealer hear will come and finish the work or the…
Godwin, My job is linked to my use of these sites and dealing with manufacturers. I will not circumvent their requirements to create an account for countries not listed on their site. You may have better luck through the Euro site as it does have Nigeria listed in the countries etis.ford.com
I apologize for not resolving this post yet. I am still waiting for the vehicle to return to the shop. I have the new module, cabling and USB drive ready to go, just need the vehicle.
I finally got this vehicle back into the shop. Installed the new APIM and programmed through OASIS. I used the USB Mini B Male cable and it did require a flash drive. Calibrated touchscreen and it was good to go! Thank you for the guidance.
