Walnut blast

Travis Diagnostician Texas Posted   Latest

Bought the walnut blaster from FCP euro. The valve at the end of the hose keeps clogging up within seconds.

My question is what blaster do people recommend and what size / brand walnuts?

Thank you

Fine grit walnuts work best. The machine that the bmw dealer sales is in my opinion the best on the market with a two stage trigger and pneumatic actuated valves , vs manual valves on most other units.

We have factory tool as well, bought it from SSF Import Parts. Finest shells you can find, which I found out Northern Tool does not have fine enough. SSF sells shells too and currently using fine shells from Harbor Freight. Don't know if you have those stores in your area.

Hi Travis. I use a Harbor Junkyard unit, had this thing for about 10+ yrs. and still works great. We do not shoot whole nuts! The media is from Harbor also and gets reclaimed many times over, usually can do about 6-8 applications before loss requires adding new media. What size is your pipe? I use a 3/8 steel tube, sometimes a little valve action is needed to get a clog out but it keeps sprying…

Check Autotool. With attachments was just over $600. Works as good and simpler than our Oe unit from BMW (Which was $$$$$). Easy you can purchase all euro adapters for intake that are 3D.

Fred - so do you guys have the Autool HTS518 or HTS558 in your shop? They look similar to me but one has a larger container. I was looking into this tool considering purchasing it for the shop. How long have you had it? Could you give me any more feedback on using the unit or it's durability? Thanks for your time!

If it is clogging than your air is not dry enough. Are you using a professional air dryer inline?
