Tcm Replacement

I have a customer with a TCM that has had water intrusion.

Is it possible to replace this with a used one?

He tried a used one, and the car wont start, but if he actuates start signal it will start and drive.

If so, can I do that with my MS906 Autel?

Not sure about the autel but witech2 has the option to change the vin when a used tcm is installed. It is found under special functions.

Had one of these a year ago, put in a used module it was a no-go just like yours, had to get a brand new one then it worked fine. using the autel pass through would probably work, we used a WitechII. don't think you'll get it with a 906

Used is possible but you’ll probably need WiTech

What type of transmission? Is it the dual clutch trans with module under the passenger carpet and shift actuator under the hood?

Never mind, just noticed you had the 6F24 Powertech listed in your post. You can probably install the module with your Autel. It writes FCA VINs well on a lot of applications. I have done quite a few 13 Darts with the dual clutch, this one will probably be similar. Just write the VIN in TCM, clear codes in all modules and perform any available learns in the TCM. You should be good to go.

Ended up being a broken wire at the connector. No programming required.
