Speed Limited To 50
SEE ATTACHED PROCEDURE ..
This vehicle has had a aftermarket bed put on it for off highway salt mine use. A ground was left off (g400) that caused all of the reductant tank / pump / heater codes to set.
Ground is repaired, all codes gone except the p130E. Speed limited to 50 message ( the reason I was called ).
SI I have read states a drive procedure of acceleration to 50 mph, which just is not possible, around here your teeth will chatter out of your head at 20..
So... any ideas?
Will this go into a derate mode if never gets above 50 mph?
I want to set my customer at ease that repair is as complete as I can make it. Trying jacking up the back end right now to see if we can trick it (Im betting no)
What is the message word for word on the DIC? These do not disappear randomly. The procedure must be followed to a T. Unfortunately you are going to have to find a road to do this on. Unless you delete it if its offroad use only. One other option. If the PCM has an update available you could do that. Sometimes that will clear a message but no guarantee.
Jacking up the back end was not able to properly perform the 2nd half of procedure, accelerates to quickly. So mad I thought I recorded video on phone and it did not record! UGH.. I do not have the exact message, I will be back next week. I know it had a picture / animation of exhaust with fluid drops. Almost positive it would flash "speed limited 55mph" I will verify that. I will also check…
Hello Caleb, and everyone else helping out. I made it back onsite to vehicle, It is now displaying message "Engine Idled See Manual" complaint is no throttle response now, still setting the p130e. I did try PCM update and no luck, also performed PCM PMI procedure and also no luck removing the dash message. Interesting p130E has not returned, I am waiting for this thing to get "lock out tag out"…
I am confused...Vin brings up a 6.2 as the posted but P130E is a diesel code? Since I am going to guess that it is a 6.7L See TSB 14-0192
I apologize Glen, I pasted wrong vin into post, I fixed it. I will check out the tsb you have listed.
Brian, Thanks for taking care of that. With the current info see SSM 45920
That is the same procedure that I stated in the original post, problem is this vehicle has not plates and is on an industrial site, max speed is 20 if you are lucky. Thanks for trying to help.
Brian, Caleb has a very valid point about the procedure being followed to a T, even then on a forced derate PCM replacement on the early 6.7 PSD was the end result or that my understanding based on my sources. Since as you say the vehicle will not get over 20 MPH who cares that the speed is limited to 50 MPH :0 Best guess when the SCR monitor completes the message will clear.
Victor I apologize, not the same procedure. Please forgive my quick response, under a bit of pressure, time constraint, spotty internet. I will let you all know what happens on return trip. That note about the 8 hr clock time is interesting part of the strategy.
Thank you everyone for help and input. 1st I would like to make sure that you know the message on the display was "Speed Limited to 50MPH" with a picture of exhaust gases with drops above them over water (best I can verbalize). We had the p130E that would not clear. I made it back to vehicle today and it would not go above 4 or 5 MPH, "Engine Idled " was the message now. I tried to update the…
