Yes! after reading it looks like his was pulling down but to 7v instead of ground but still same problem at end of day

Ah! Grille shutters… Like they actually need these? I have run into this issue on a lot of newer vehicles recently. Engineers are getting crazy with theories and selling this garbage to manufacturers claiming it will improve mileage with faster warm up times. Sadly. these typically fail closed and not open. What does that mean? Overheated engines and damage.

Nothing to do with improving mileage. The benefit for that would be and is, almost nil. The chief purpose is to reduce warm-up emissions, and to keep the massive heat loss when the thermostat opens from being so huge. Causes the PCM to dump fuel when that happens. The shutter keeps that from happening, and the inrush temps from being so low. Helps the vehicle to warm up faster. My Focus has…
