Cummins Dosing Unit Input lines code
Here is a short video I did using the Escope Elite 4 Channel to diagnose a Dosing Unit Input lines code on a Cummins Isl Engine.
Hi Michael! Glad to see you are having no trouble learning the e-scope. I am curious, what is the maximum sample rate of this scope? Also, what is the largest buffer size it can handle? You answered another question I had which is how the zoom function works. Also, being a pico user, what's the learning curve like? Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Hi Tim the max sample rate is 500,000 samples a second at 2 channels and at 4 channels it is at 250,000 samples a second. As for the buffer I have tested it out to a 20 second screen in deep record and it does quite well. As for the sample interval I can't remember but I plan to do a video explaining the capabilities of the escope showing how many samples it records and how the sample interval…
I'm super interested in your video, Mike. I'll keep my eyes open! Thank you for the reply👍
No problem Tim, I am super excited to be part of the Ats Team and I really like the way Bernie, Jeff, and Neil think about making tools for Techs to help them in the field. Keep in touch.
Michael, how does the Cummins ecm know there is an issue with the lines? Is it monitoring the pressure sensor signal for this poor (signal full of hashes) signal and interpretomg that as air in the lines?
Every time the Def Pump is turned on it starts a prime cycle. If it does not pass the prime test it logs this code. As for how long it takes to log Cummins does not give this info. And yes it monitors the pressure from the sensor inside the pump on this system. The newer systems with the ecofit pumps on 2350 controls now have a speed sensor inside the pump to help with diagnosis as well and the…
Thanks for sharing. Look forward to the rest of the videos.
