Tesla Main Screen wont turn on--after body work
My boss bought Tesla Model S 85 on Copart--was lightly hit in Rear Trunk. all it needed is rear Trunk lid with glass and a bumper and fix latch mechanizm... sent to body shop--after 4 months ( i know sounds crazy loooong ) they are saying its ready to pick up vehicle but the screen wont turn on and vehicle drives fine....(((before we sent to body shop all was working fine..)
we tried Reseting Screen ( push on brakes and Holding Scroll Wheels on steering wheel—-no help.
—Since its salvage- Tesla Dealer wont touch it.
Anybody know Aftermarket shops that work on Tesla?
The chip failed on the MCU, will need a new MCU or newer ram chip repair(not easy) Depends on budget the MCu2 upgrade is a great option but it's not cheap
Does it simply fail on its own just sitting in a shop? im just so not familiar with Tesla. but ill get in touch with Rich Rebuild
Fails based on how many times it's been written to. Alot of factors play into it we can rebuild some of them
Rich Rebuild twitter.com/RebuildsRich would be the man I would ask. He knows his salvage Tesla's.
They probably welded on the vehicle without taking the appropriate precautions.
I don't know much about this car, but I know two fuses a 20amp and 5 amp go to the vehicle screen you might want to check that first.
All fuses good. We made appointment with local Tesla Service Center- its getting towed there since not registered yet—will see what they say. Going there Tuesday. Ill keep updating you guys
forgot to update: Dealer said the Screen Module got fried—-not a single chip ( they could of rebuild it) but now its $2000 for whole new screen... as of today Tesla still at dealer. Will update when comes home will chek it out
