What repair are you unable to perform?

Nissan Consult 3 R2R unable to connect to my J2534 device. I own two: MVCI J2534 (Autel 919), and JVCI J2534 (Autel IM608).

I purchased a 1-day subscription to check as some OEMs list only a handful of supported devices but technically all devices supporting the J2534 protocol should work, and they do from my experience (for others like Ford FDRS, FCA WiTech, GM Techline Connect, Toyota Techstream, etc.).

Nissan Techinfo website states that only the Cardaq 3 Plus is supported. I installed the Cardaq software (I don't have the physical device), and Nissan Consult 3 R2R gave me the option to select Cardaq as my communication device. Does not recognize any other device installed on my PC. 

I find it unfair that they release an aftermarket programming application for J2534 protocol and decide to only allow one aftermarket device. Do they not have to open it up to all devices supporting the J2534 protocol?

I don’t know this for a fact, but “maybe” the Cardaq is the only one who paid Nissan to get approved?? Not sure if that is how it works or not. Maybe Nissan has to test each device before they allow access.
