Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat etc, Key Code Site
We have a rare opportunity. Stellantis, (formerly FCA) has a new vendor for their Key Code site. This vendor works on numerous other aftermarket and dealer products for Stellantis. Stellantis and NASTF are meeting to discuss a list of items that we would like to see improved on the back end software as well as some redundancy in the forms you fill out vs what is on the D1. By next Monday 4/12 I am interested in things that would improve the usability. NASTF will share these ideas with Stellantis and their vendor.
Please do not talk to us about price. NASTF cannot dictate pricing to OEs. That is EPA's job.
Thank you for answering directly in this forum so that you can see each other's ideas. Please keep it professional and constructive. I intend to show this to the folks I work with that are very helpful and cooperative.
Would love to see a single subscription model for Tech Authority and Witech2.
MDP (Mopar Diagnostic Pod) available to the aftermarket for purchase through franchise dealer networks for all shops and technicians without any hoops to jump through. If there are aftermarket vendors that are also allowed to sell the MDP, great, but the factory tool should 100% be available for purchase.
I agree with Isacc 100%. I contacted my local Chrysler dealer perhaps 2 months ago to purchase the MDP. I was told it wouldn't be an issue and that they were ordering it, I even pre-paid. About a month and a half later and no answer back from the dealer. I call over and am told that as an independent shop, I can't purchase the tooling and they would “see if they could refund my deposit”. I've…
I agree with what Isaac said. Also the ability for us in the aftermarket to access witech 1/enhanced DRB III emulator same as the dealer network for the non-can cars and cars that dont work well with witech 2
Access to rolling PIN codes for longer than 12 hours. What happens if additional components need to be replaced and must be ordered.
I would like to see Witech work the same way it does for Dealer techs as it does for aftermarket independents. When using Witech if your a dealer tech you can click on the code it brings up the code definition / flow chart and wiring diagram all in a quick and efficient manner. If your using Witech as an independent if you click on the code it doesn't bring up the flow chart or wiring diagram…
I'd like to see the purchase of a keycode function as a techauthority subscription again as well. It used to be advertised as such but rarely worked.
Access to STAR cases for vehicles outside of warranty. I understand that star cases for vehicles under warranty may not be accessible because of possible liability issues, but for vehicles outside of warranty, STAR cases are invaluable to the aftermarket.
I agree on the STAR cases, having access to those for the independent would be very valuable as this information can lead the aftermarket technician to be able to access these cases which would allow them to be more through in their diagnosis and level the playing field
Donny, Thank you for considering us in your post. I was actually wondering if I could possibly be considered as an exclusive provider for security related information from Stellantis? I would be ok with even just the southeastern United States. I missed your post from three years ago when you asked what members, or maybe companies, wanted exclusive access to remote LSID programming. I have…
Donny, I agree with all here in their requests. You know these are items that I have been asking for years about. I have been saying it should be a level playing field and items such as keycodes, STAR cases, network topology via VIN, direct access to service info via WiTech 2.0, and build data are all items that are available via the factory side DealerConnect and nowhere to be found on the…
What I think needs to be improved from all sites to nastf is the information provided to the manufacturer gets relayed to nastf. Nastf needs a spot to save customer information for regular customers. Chrysler needs to allow access after pins are purchased or a someone that can be called for support immediately. Locksmiths are not like dealer techs. They are many times onsite and when…
had this same issue with a 2020 jeep wrangler. i went back and forth with them for over a week and they never gave me a definitive answer on what the issue was. after two weeks i tried again and it finally worked. We definitely need support that can help if we are paying. Emailing tweddle back and forth that whole week was useless.
