Passenger side front window won't go up!
Vehicle brought in with P/S front window stuck in down position. Inspected window and found that it was out of the track. After putting window back in track tried to get it to work by using the switches but window won't go up. Put direct power to window using power probe and window went up and down every time indicating motor & regulator are ok. The BCM data only shows D/S door data…is that normal? What do you think the cause of it no going up is.
Have you checked the network for a PDM? (Passenger Door Module)
Have you tested anything? Even without data you still can check the switch , wiring etc. Check schematic to see who controls the motor. If you put it up with the power probe does it go down with the switch?
Most likely the driver door switch is the problem. The grounds are supplied to the passenger door switch via the driver door switch 1 check the viloit/yellow wire on pass switch for 12v this supplys power. 2 check for ground at the brown/yellow and yellow black wire (on pass window switch). These should be grounded all the time unless driver switch is actuated 3 if you find no ground there…
Also you may try disconnecting battery and doing a hard reset
Here is the diagram…let me know that you get it.
Does the image you uploaded have text on it? This doesn't. I don't know if it's a browser rendering issue.
Michael, Follow: Derrick Deans Diagnostic Pinpoint instructions. This will put you on the correct path to troubleshoot the failure cause and makeing the correct repair. Best of luck keep us posted. Alan K.
Michael, I meant to add one more thing never hurts to check for an open circuit between the door where the wire comes through the pass through to the A pillar in the car. I seen them break and still have the installation intact. Newer vehicles and older vehicles. Dodge Caravan - Jeep Cherokee Grand Cherokee seem to be the worst but the General Motors product will do it too. I think they'll all…
The passenger side switch is not on the data bus, and is not connected to the BCM. It is a hard-wired circuit for the window control on the passenger side. Volt-drop the powers and grounds while activating the window…should be no drop. Gotta drop? Chase that.
