Chevy Colorado Cruise Control
I have a 2010 Colorado and the customer's complaint is that the cruise control does not stay set. There are no codes and I cannot duplicate the problem. It is working properly now.
Looking at the cruise control disengage history I saw a few occurrences that said: “pedal initialize”
What does this mean?
When I have the cruise control on and driving, I can press the brake pedal to disengage it and it says “brake”, but I have never seen “pedal initialize” before.

Check that your brake pedal switch is working. Happens with my 2005 Colorado when the brake light switch goes out, No faults when it happens either as it is not a monitored circuit. The only reason I found out about it was by some close calls and people flashing their high beams at me that brake lights are inop, usually the ones on their phones. Now I check them every so often against a wall…
