Bsm In/Op After Collision Repair

So, I get a call from a body shop. Car hit in right rear, R BSM broken and R BSM connector broken. Shop replaced right BSM and got a new connector and repinned it. I get no communication from right BSM and Left BSM has code U1000. I printed the wring diagram from Mitchell. Looks like they repinned the right BSM backwards. I repinned it by the manual. I am still getting all the same error messages? Can anyone help? (no damage to left rear corner)

Make sure there is a correct part number for the right side on that side. I have had shops get the incorrect one before on those exact same rogues.

Part number is correct. The way I read the schematic is the first 2 pins with the BSM mounted, the first two pins are empty and the last 5 are blk, grn, brn, blue, yel, blk. The harness runs from the right BSM into a square module on the bottom of the right rear rail and then runs into the passenger cabin. I keep getting same errors. I even plugged the old BSM in, same errors.

Ahh I see! I'm at at a body shop at a Nissan dealer now, I'll see if I can find one to take a picture really quick. Also Nissan diagrams can be confusing. Usually shows in the OE if you are looking at H.S.(harness side) or not.

I was starting to lose hope, had like 4 with only front end damage. This one is a 17 also.

+1 what Rogelio stated about harness side or terminal side. Misunderstanding the EWD and connector pinouts is probably why one shop pinned them one way and you pinned them the other. Just be extra careful. You might apply B+ or ground to the wrong terminal and let out smoke.

Hi Tony. I always get stuck at that point for a few minutes with the black/white image with the diagonal line through connector halves that is supposed to tell us which way they have oriented the view. Never makes sense to me. Somebody should present a five minute video on understanding wtf Nissan is talking about on those.

Well, ran out of time today. The right BSM is pinned as shown in the prior picture, although I have two black wires where the picture shows a single white wire on the last pin. I have voltage on Left BSM and Right BSM wires . I have U100 no communication in the Left BSM and multiple codes in Right BSM. When I try to directly communicate with the Right BSM I cannot directly communicate. I am…

I'm wondering if the shop connected the original BSM when it was incorrectly pinned and shorted it out. Maybe when they realized no comm they ordered a new one and shorted it out too. Perhaps they can get new one warranty'd out. Also I saw in the diagrams they don't have a dedicated CAN to each BSM and they are pinned the same for for both. Technically you probably could connect the left on the…

Thats the thing about it, the module connectors are the same left and right BUT the connector on the drivers side is pinned from front (toward the front bumper) to rear with first 3 pins blank, the passenger side module uses the front 4 pins with last two toward rear blank , Thats why I requested picture (see pics in previous) post. I think it is weird to be pinned differently on each side and…

I see in the diagrams that they are pinned the same way, except right side has the extra ground. You sure the shop didn't mess with the drivers side?

Hi Chris, Does Mitchell offer the OE diagrams? I'm looking in AllData at the OE diagrams, comparing it to the Nissan factory diagrams, and confirmed that they do match. I see what Rogelio is saying - both sides are wired the same except the ride side has an extra ground circuit on pin 3. According to the factory diagram, the picture Rogelio share is correct. From left to right, the RH should…

I would totally be in agreement to wrong pinning except the photo of another 17 rouge in this thread earlier shows it being pinned like the body shop pinned it. Look at that reply. The shop denied working on left side but at this point I am about to punt. Let me know thoughts after you review the other reply . (This is the picture from another Rouge that was posted in this thread)

Those images line up with what the connector views in the service information show. A couple of earlier comments mentioned this, but Nissan connector views typically show from the component side. Therefore, if you pin the connector like it shows in the connector view, you will pin it backwards. I did some ebay shopping and found this listing for a RH blind spot module. It's pinned as shown in…
