Fjds No Longer Giving Option To Manually Enter Vehicle Info

2005 Ford Excursion XLT 6.0L (P) 4-spd (4R100)

I was trying to help out another shop by reprogramming pcm on this excursion, and my laptop crashed right in the middle. Go to perform as built, and instead of just timing out, and letting me manually enter vehicle info when fjds tries to communicate with pcm, it just goes right back to the start new session screen. I tried code 53061, and that does not help either. I am currently back at my shop trying to figure this out, and if I try code 60274, I first select excursion, then I am left with model codes that I can't seem to figure out, and my05 isn't even an option for model year. Should I just try J68 any_year? I did try that on my desk, but won't give me an option for tear tag yet.

Is there another way of entering tear tag info now, or am I doing it correctly? The other shop is 15 minutes away, and I would like to have this figured out before I head over there again.

Will Forscan allow you to input asbuilt data?

Forscan will not allow PCM changes unless they just started letting it do it

this video he is doing as built with the IPC and the SCCM. Forscan allows you to do as built in most modules but not the PCM. I think they dont want to get in any hot water with EPA by allowing people to mess with the PCM.

I believe people here stated that Ford still hasn’t fixed the Blank Path procedure. This was weeks or months ago. Sad that they won’t do anything about it.

I've fallen back to v118 IDS for most things since all the v120 and up versions are crap.

Since your PC crashed while using the software, i would do a fresh install of fjds first.

Sean, Why FJDS? IDS should be correct for that year and model. I've updated and programmed countless 6.0's

Because fjsd is $50 for a short term subscription, and ids is $150. Will ids still allow as built? I went back yesterday afternoon, and couldn't find a way of making it work at all with fjds.

Usually but not always you can do as built data with ids on a used module, Most of the time it will work, sometimes you will have to do multiple sessions. There is a special function on some vehicles to learn the pcm data from the bcm that is not in module programming. Some aftermarket scan tools may also have this function. On diesels ford is very careful due to all of the tuned vehicles out…

Why use FJDS when the IDS is a much better tool? Plus you can get some kind of help from the Ford Help Desk, and with FJDS or Forscan that is not possible. If your laptop crashed in the middle of things, the PCM is more than likely DOA, and might not be able to be recovered.

FJDS is the same functionality for programming and code scan. There are several other service functions that need IDS (atc barcode, IQA write, etc) but FJDS should program this model just fine. Ford Help Desk can assist with FJDS as it is FORD's J2534 software and is supported by Ford the same as IDS. While I am not 100% sure why it reverts to the start session screen, I have had a similar…

Like i said to Kevin, fjds is $50 for 2 days, and ids is $150 for 2 days, that's why I went with fjds. I do work on enough fords to justify the $900 per year, and I finally did that, I just try to pinch pennies wherever I can.

Thanks for the help. Just so everyone knows, blank path programming with as built data is only available through ids now. Fjds would not finish the programming event from the previous session, no matter what I did. I had to purchase the $900 ids subscription, because I do work on enough Fords, I was just trying to be cheap. This Excursion is back to the same state it was when I showed up now…
