Proxy Alignment Question
This is a work van that has had a flashing Odometer for a long time. I don't have much history of what parts have or have not been replaced. I don't do a lot of programming and I have only performed a handful of Proxy Alignments, so I am looking for some advice on this Ram Van. All the modules have up to date programming, but the Proxy Alignment fails and the B10AA Check Configuration Failed returns. I have tried to Restore the Proxy Settings and that failed as well. I followed all the prompts for having the radio turned on, seat belts unlatched and no one sitting in the vehicle. Any thoughts would be great!
Go to the BCM details and read VIN, Probably going to have to also check TCM, ORC, and PCM. Try doing a restore vehicle configuration 1st. Also what tool are you using? It may also play a role in the failure.
I am using wiTECH2 with current subscriptions from FCA.
Most likely a used module has been installed and contains an incorrect VIN. Many of these newer FCA vehicles can not change the VIN once the module has been initialized. You should be able to read the original VIN in the data. Look for a module that has the incorrect VIN.
As others have mentioned, check the vin in each module. If the vin is wrong in any of them you can change it using an Autel scanner. Some of the things I have seen in the past is the abs module loose the vin or never be set up, the tipm have the wrong vin from used pcm being installed. Also seen various pcm’s with wrong vin from being installed used and then having a configuration restore run…
If the radio has been replaced with aftermarket one then it has to be removed from the vehicle order before PROXI will work.
Thank you for the replies. Everyone was on the right track, but Michael went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Sir!!! The HVAC module had lost its configuration for whatever reason. I do not know if the HVAC unit was replaced at some point or not. We ran the HVAC Proxy Configuration in the HVAC module first and then the Proxy Alignment through the BCM. This time the Proxy completed…
