2009 Pontiac g6 cam crank needed

2009 Pontiac G6 2.4L (B) 4-spd (4T45-E)

this vehicle has host of issues however before addressing others I needed to confirm the worst of them 

I am looking to confirm the cams are out if time 

if anyone has a known good, vvt’s unplugged, id be grateful.

I love my picoscope as much as the next guy, but it takes like 15 minutes to pull the valve cover on one of those engines….

From memory if it serves me it’s ten degrees

On an 09, before it trips a code, you can usually see the variance on this for the timing on both cams. Once the code sets, the scanner usually displays nothing but 0 degrees (failsafe). If it has timing codes, clear them while running, and see if they stay away until the next start. If it sets on start, I'm calling it timing. No need for teardown or scope. The scanner is your friend here.
