Whining Noise On Decelaration

we have here a 2006 Lexus rx440h awd customer is complaining of a loud whining noise coming to a stop. The vehicle has about 45 thousand miles. it currently has no codes store in any of the systems. Transaxle fluids is very clean. does anyone have any idea of what can cause this concern?

How loud is loud? A very subjective value. That said, it will make a whining noise during regenerative braking. Normal for hybrids.

I agree with Eric, have you duplicated the concern? The transaxle does most of the braking normally. Any specific speed? All the time? That's pretty low miles for an 06. Can you take a video of it making the noise.

You didn't say, so I would ask if they are the original owner or if they just bought it. Could just be a perception issue.

Send to dealer for second opinion . There was a problem in that year for leaks and abnormal noises

EV's or hybrids that are capable of operating under electrical power only, should have an audible AVAS system (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System). They make an awful droning noise that starts when the vehicle is in motion and stops just before the vehicle stops (sometimes). I'm not sure if this model is equipped with this system.

If you pop it in Neutral while decelerating does the noise go away? Putting it in Neutral will take power away from the electric motors, not allow regenerative braking, and apply the hydraulic brakes.
