Texa tool for hd +
Anybody here operates a texa tool for HD application and some light duty application? We operates with oem software, jpro and a snapon aka the Wal-Mart tool as the whole staff like to call it. Being said we do have to send some repair that the texa could benefit from.
I don't personally think will consider upgrading to the automotive side as per the limitation for North American model.
I looking for input to see if in effect the tool is worth the money.
Thanks in advance
Kevin
It's a good tool, it will give you bidirectional controls and it will record graph data. So far for aftermarket tooling I like Texa and also the Autel Commercial Vehicle tool has started to grow on me. It has a lot of coverage and is inexpensive compared to the Texa. It will also hook up to Medium Duty Vehicles as well. What do you mainly work on?
We work on everything that's the thing. I think we're we are lacking is volvo, hino, gmc/Isuzu. Our big main are western star, mack, international, Pete, kenworth, freight, sterling and fuso The snapon truck scanner is just a triage tool and doesn't cut it. We have oem cummins, cat, you name it. But as everything is condense into 1 laptop and we have 5 tech…. The laptop is often getting stolen…
I have off highway on Texa but unfortunately I have not used it much so I can't give you a good answer on that. It works on Cummins for Trucks very nicely and also on wabco. Plus another feature I like is when you want to communicate with multiplex modules such as vansco you can see if data is actually being transmitted to the body module unlike with the Vansco software it will not indicate…
I had been looking at the Snap On. Which model do you own?
We have the pro link. When it comes to cummins and even abs it's unreliable it miss code definition that we jump right with oem software. For the international its seems Allright. I heard the autel is a good compromise but still lack data or some feature does fail even if they are available. I've been told that the closest to oem except for programming was texa. Considering updating the tool…
Kevin, The TEXA has excellent coverage for Agricultural and Construction equipment. That is what I have dealt with the most in using the tool.
Kevin, One of the advantages of TEXA is the ability for one pass-through device to work with multiple environments. CAR, Truck, Motorcycles and ATVs, Marine and Off Road. I am a technician and have sold the tool for over 5 years. The company is small enough for personal attention and large enough to develop software ability in a timely manner. As a dealer I can arrange remote sessions to debug…
Not trying to jump this thread, but have you seen the Autel MS908CV? I have used the Texa. It is a capable tool, and the support is great, it just seems to lack some capabilities. I'm not trying to push the Autel, I myself have just started to look onto it this morning. The price difference is pretty significant.
Autel has come a long way with there tool. For me it has done everything the Texa will do and a bonus I like about it is its tablet based and more portable. Plus the wireless with the tablet and vci is awesome. Makes it very easy to do bidirectional tests as your testing with your Meter or scope. For the price I agree its the best bang for buck.
