Ford programming
Replace park brake module cannot find park brake module programming option in IDS.
Has anyone program one of these? Point me in the right direction.
What does service info say? if it doesn’t say so then it doesn’t require it
It has a code for missing configuration, it needs to be programmed, however all service information relates to only the manual park brake system not the electronic type so don't have much access to any information on this.
Looks like you need to perform the “Park brake configuration routine.” This will likely be a utility under toolbox > chassis > or perhaps under Module programming > programmable parameters. Sorry the service info I found does not elaborate further. See attached docs.
There is no way to do this within IDS, you have to do that routine discribe in that picture and then do an apply and release from a snap on or other scan tool. But it didn't want to do it until I messed with the park brake a few times was saying incorrect state but this fixed my problem.
Fallow attached, procedure after replacement you may have to engage in disengage park brake several times to get scan tool to want to do release and apply test at least that was the case with a snap on tool this fixed the problem
Jeffrey, I'm glad you got it resolved. Between the mentioned TSB and the procedure in the Ford workshop manual, IDS would have done it. Ford SI has different troubleshooting and repair for manual vs electronic. What SI system are you using?
